8 August - 15 August 2013 - Istanbul, Turkey

The IUPAC General Assembly (GA) is the occasion for meetings of the statutory bodies of the Union, specifically of the Council, Division Committees, and Standing Committees.

The 47th IUPAC General Assembly will be held 8-15 August 2013, in Istanbul, Turkey, concurrently with the 44th IUPAC Congress.

The GA venue will be in the Harbiye Military Museum.

The IUPAC Congress, held in conjunction with the General Assembly, will take place at the near by Lütfi Kirdar Congress and Exhibition Center. Please take a moment to review the IUPAC Congress web site <www.iupac2013.org>. We would like to encourage you to take advantage of your participation in the IUPAC GA by also attending the Congress. The Organizing Committee has prepared an exciting program with the theme Clean Energy Through Chemistry. GA participants can register to the Congress under GA delegate rate.

Participation in the meetings of the GA is for members only. If you are not a member of a particular body and wish to attend a specific meeting, please contact the Chair of that meeting.

*Please note that some Subcommittee Chairs have opted to begin meetings on 7 August while the "official" start date is 8 August with Division Committee meetings commencing on 9 August.

Congress Opening Ceremony -- Sunday, 11 August

• This event includes the award ceremony for the winners of the IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists and is followed immediately by the Congress Welcome Reception.

GA registration is required for all participants, including TMs, AMs, NRs, Observers, and NAOs delegates.  Registration is being handled using Cvent
