Objective:
The objective is largely that espoused by the IUPAC executive in the series. It is intended to prepare a series of short essays on the new areas of application of Chemical Thermodynamics in the next century, concentrating on new materials, environment, pharmaceuticals and medicine. The purpose is to inform the public and interested scientists in the field and its value, to influence funding agencies and to stimulate students to enter the field all over the world.
