Project Details:

Solubility data related to Industrial Processes. Solubility data in ternary systems containing water alcohol, and hydrocarbon

Project No.:2011-043-1-500
Start date:2011-10-01
End date:0000-00-00
Division:Analytical Chemistry Division
Objective:

This project will compile and evaluate solubility data for ternary systems containing water one alcohol, and one hydrocarbon.

Solubility data in these ternary systems were compiled by Adam Skrzecz et. al. within Solubility Data Series (volume 69, published in Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data, Vol. 28, No. 4, pp. 983-1236, 1999). Since that time number of reported measurements for these systems increased about three times. Now the data can be evaluated in a way that was not possible previously. This can be achieved due to our previous works on evaluation of the constituent binary data and due to new theoretical achievements.

The results of this work will be prepared in the standard format of the IUPAC-NIST Solubility Data Series for publication in the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data and for inclusion in a web-accessible database being prepared by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Description:

Under the direction of the Subcommittee on Solubility and Equilibrium Data (SSED) of the Analytical Chemistry Division, the IUPAC Solubility Data Project (SDP) compiles and critically evaluates data on chemical solubility and disseminates the resulting information to the widest possible range of users by traditional (printed on paper) and electronic (web-accessible database) means. The systems to be covered by this project fit within the priority focus area identified in the phantom proposal, Solubility Related to Industrial Processes.
