In situ analytical techniques for water and sediments Series: Analytical and physical chemistry of environmental systems
| Project No.: | 610-70-97 |
| Start date: | 1997-01-01 |
| End date: | 2000-12-31 |
| Division: | Chemistry and the Environment Division |
The programme is aimed at critically reviewing the capabilities and limitations of analytical techniques usable for in situ analysis in the environment. It includes thorough discussions of:-sensors and more sophisticated analytical systems for in situ, non perturbing measurements or sampling,-problems of speciatioin analysis as related to the above methods, spatial resolution of various techniques,-measurements of fluxes, diffusion coefficients and boundary layer thickness. The themes have been selected by thorough discussion within the Commission of Fundamental Environmental Chemistry. An international panel of experts has been asked to cooperate in the production of the reports.
