Project: Solubility data related to industrial processes. Mutual solubility of esters with water

Objective
This project will compile and evaluate solubility data for all esters with water.

The results of this work will be prepared in the standard format of the IUPAC-NIST Solubility Data Series for publication in the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data and for inclusion in a web-accessible database being prepared by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Description
Under the direction of the Subcommittee on Solubility and Equilibrium Data (SSED) of the Analytical Chemistry Division, the IUPAC Solubility Data Project (SDP) compiles and critically evaluates data on chemical solubility and disseminates the resulting information to the widest possible range of users by traditional (printed on paper) and electronic (web-accessible database) means.

The systems to be covered by this project fit within the priority focus area, Solubility Related to Industrial Processes. Ester-water solubilities are important to many industrial processes, primarily as solvents and intermediates. The systems ester-water were covered in 1992 in the volumes 48 and 49 of the IUPAC Solubility Data Series.
