Oxygen - A play by Carl Djerassi and Roald Hoffman

Two eminent chemists invite you to share in Nobel committee deliberations who should win the first retro-Nobel Prize for the discovery of oxygen? And what counts as discovery anyway? Following a successful Canadian premiere in Toronto in January, the Stillman Drake History of Science players will plunge you into the middle of the priority dispute. Committee members
double as their 1777 protégés to dramatize claims of Lavoisier, Priestley and Scheele. The human side of chemical research is enhanced as the accompanying spouses support and promote their husbands' work.

Two performances at the IUPAC Congress on Monday & Tuesday, August 11 & 12 at 8:00 p.m. in Ottawa at the Alumni Theatre of Carleton University
