In order to incorporate chemistry and merge toxicology into the terminology used in toxicokinetics in various scientific disciplines, a project entitled
Glossary for toxicokinetics of chemicals (#2000-034-2-700) was initiated and the outcome published in 2004 (PAC Vol. 76, No. 5, pp. 1033-1082).
A related project aimed at creating an
Explanatory Dictionary of Concepts in Toxicokinetics (#2003-001-2-700); the terms are selected from the 1st glossary and extended explanations of the concepts underlying the selected terms are proposed.
Following these two projects, a need to explain further terms has been identified. By doubling the entries in the pilot paper to include approximately 20 more, the work will be substantial enough to publish in book form. The task group will prepared the additional text and reorganize the overall work thematically.
The project consists of about 20 more terms to be explained. The project is designed to serve the current educational needs of chemists and other scientists and thus should be of global interest. A list of terms to be included in part 2 of the explanatory dictionary is given below.
Proposed list of terms to be included in the Explanatory Dictionary of Terms in Toxicology (part 2):
- Aerobic, Anaerobic
