The method of field flow fractionation is developing in a number of centres and it is desirable to agree a common nomenclature to ensure consistency of terminology and usage. The defined terms will be limited in areas of ambiguity and to central method themes.
A initial version of this paper is being revised by the authors for
the end of October 1999.
