Objective

This volume contains solubility compilations and evaluations for ternary systems containing alcohols, hydrocarbons, and water. The subject area is particularly important because of the extensive use of such systems in the petroleum and related industries. In addition, such chemicals are components for oxygenated motor fuels which have been extensively employed to reduce atmospheric pollution. It is important that reliable solubility data be available for preparation and manufacture of such fuel blends to avoid phase separation during transportation and storage, especially under extreme weather conditions.
