This project perfectly fits into what IUPAC stands for! Unfortunately progress has been very slow so far. However there was general agreement at this years Commission meeting that this unique project should continue since there is an urgent need for harmonization of nomenclature in this topic area. Therefore the Commission leadership decided to pursue this project and EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR COMPLETION FOR ONE YEAR i.e. 1998!
